Meet one of our latest team members, Caitlin Gillatt
Caitlin started at Collins & May Law in November 2023 as a law clerk after she had finished her law degree at Victoria University.
Caitlin has recently finished her Professional Legal Studies course and will be admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in September 2024.
Caitlin is currently working in Simone Seddon’s team and is working in a variety of different areas of law, with a particular focus on property, estates, wills and trusts.
To get to know Caitlin a little better, we have asked her a few questions:
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I am born and bred in Lower Hutt. It is great having my family so close, I can even pop round to have lunch with Mum during the week.
Q: What do you enjoy about living in Wellington?
A: All the great bars and restaurants.
Q: What it something that you are enjoying about working at Collins & May so far?
A: The people make working at Collins & May really fun. It has also been really interesting working on a lot of different files in the office.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: I love to stay active by going to the gym and playing netball. I am also a fan of heading out to a local café on the weekend for a coffee and a cheese scone.
Q: What is the last book you read?
A: A Court of Thorns & Roses.
Q: Last concert you went to?
A: Robbie Williams in Hawkes Bay.
Q: What did you do over the last long weekend (Easter)?
A: I went looking for wedding venues with my fiancé.
Q: What dish would you take to a potluck?
A: I love a desert so I would probably take some type of cheesecake.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: Vampire Diaries.
Q: What is your favourite board game?
A: Articulate, although it causes many heated arguments within the family.
Q: What is your favourite season?
A: Definitely summer.
